Hickman Catheter
This is a picture of the Hickman catheter that was installed in my chest for the stem cell collection and SCT during the summer. You can see a picture of the insertion site here. I got the idea of taking a picture from Eric Vogt, who photographed his from tandem SCTs.
You can see a picture of the Neostar triple lumen catheter here. That’s what I had inserted at Wake Forest prior to chemo and stem cell collection.

Not having been through what you have.. that’s an awesome picture and you are a doubly awesome survivor.
Thanksgiving is a complex holiday/emotion for people and families with cancer.
I am thankful for all you give and have given.

The catheter that I had was a little bit different. It had “wings” just above where it went under the skin and those were stitched down to help hold it in place. I think that might be a better setup to keep it from pulling.
Glad to hear you are doing well. I see my local oncologist today and go back to MD Anderson in mid-December. I’m anxious to see what they will have to say and what will show on the testing.
